About

My work over the last few years has found me increasingly engaged with web development. What started out as an interest in developing an online web presence for my woodturning work  has turned into something more involved as  individuals and small businesses have sought my help with the task of building their own web platform.

My background is in fine woodworking including the building and restoration of harpsichords, tracker action pipe organs, and the restoring of antique furniture. I have also designed and built custom one-off furniture which has been shown at the Javits Center’s International Furniture Fair, as well as the D&D building in New York.

I haven’t spent much time in my shop lately but when I do I work on small turning projects such as bowls and boxes. These I turn by hand on a 1945 12″ Delta lathe using wood native to the northeastern United States including maple, cherry, apple, and sycamore.

Besides woodturning and web development I am interested in artistic adventures and expression in many forms but with a decided slant in appreciation toward the visual,  especially graphics and photography. If that’s your interest too, please visit me at Google+

I also spend a fair amount of time on my bicycle from March to December, or until there is too much snow and ice on the road to ride safely. Either that or it’s too cold. My training goals the past few years have been a number of hill climbing events in the Northeast including Mount Washington in New Hampshire, and Mount Equinox in Vermont.

Other than these brief personal background notes here are a few other things that have attracted my interest at one time or another.
